Swiss Trains
I also spent a year in Switzerland. Swiss trains are nothing like French trains. Swiss trains are not loud and they are not missing anything (even the old ones). They are cleaned everyday and the benches haven’t been orange for years. They are now blue and grey and they are not cut, ripped or even drawn on. Some Swiss trains have two levels or glass roofs – quite convenient for the majestic views offered at every turn. And the trains that go the longer distances have suspension: the passenger compartments bank on turns and make a slight humming sound. Get me in one of those things and I’m out like a baby – it’s bliss I tell you!
