Tie continued…
…The interview took place at Peter, Hoffman and Statz: a prestigious law firm with offices in Boston, New York, Chicago, Los Angeles and Seattle. They handled corporate law for some of the largest companies in the country. $900 an hour was their starting wage – or at least that’s what they gave the last guy they hired. – Franz Shueberman, he graduated from the top school in Europe and was sent directly to their fledgling office in Amsterdam. They hoped to land Shoppes Haus (largest microchip manufacturer in the Old World) and France 3 (owner and operator of TV5, Le Monde and Canal Plus) as clients and it didn’t bother them too much that the new hire’s dad was on France 3’s board of directors and his grandfather (mother’s side) started Shoppes Haus in his living room (he was smart enough not to go public till after the war). And guess what young Shueberman wore to his interview?
